Mentre la Tate Modern celebra Gerhard Richter, Charles Saatchi fa la sua mostra dedicata all’arte contemporanea tedesca: “Gesamtkunstwerk, New art from Germany”. Quello tra Saatchi e la Tate è un duello che dura ormai da due decenni e, secondo Jackie Wullschlager del Financial Times, ha visto il primo avere la meglio sulla seconda (Io non ne sono convinto: con la nascita della Tate Modern le cose sono cambiate).

La cosa curiosa è che tra gli artisti scelti dal collezionista c’è anche Isa Genzken, la seconda moglie di Gerhard Richter (si sposarono nel 1982 e divorziarono nel 1995). Isa Genzken non è un’artista qualunque (nel 2007 rappresentò la Germania alla Biennale di Venezia), ma mi sembra evidente che non regga in nessun modo il confronto con l’ex marito.
